Seaton Beach

Seaton Beach extends for over a mile of shingle and pebble, sitting at the gateway to the Jurassic Coast where the River Axe meets the sea. The beach provides excellent walking opportunities, connecting eastward toward Lyme Regis and westward toward Beer. The working harbour adds authentic character, while the nearby Seaton Marshes Nature Reserve provides additional wildlife interest.

Dogs are welcome year-round at both ends of the beach but banned from the central section between Castle Hill and Trevelyan Road from May to September. The eastern and western sections provide good exercise space, while the promenade allows on-lead walks throughout the year. The beach's length ensures space even when central restrictions apply.

Access is straightforward from the A3052 with multiple car parks including the large Jurassic Long Stay facility. The level promenade provides excellent accessibility with regular toilets, cafés, and the famous Seaton Tramway terminus. The harbour area offers additional interest with boat trips and fishing opportunities. The town's location makes it an excellent base for exploring both Devon and Dorset coastal attractions, while the nearby Pecorama and Beer Quarry Caves provide family entertainment options.
