Putsborough Beach

Putsborough offers a more intimate alternative to nearby Croyde and Woolacombe, sitting in a sheltered bay beneath National Trust headlands. The sandy beach provides excellent surfing conditions while maintaining a quieter, more natural atmosphere. The surrounding cliffs support rare plants and wildlife, making it popular with naturalists as well as surfers.

Dogs face seasonal restrictions during summer months but enjoy full access from October to April. The beach's smaller scale creates a more intimate experience compared to larger North Devon beaches, while the surrounding National Trust land provides excellent walking opportunities year-round. The cliff paths offer spectacular views and wildlife encounters.

Access is via narrow lanes with limited parking that fills quickly during peak periods. The small car park requires early arrival during popular times. Facilities are limited to a seasonal café and toilets, but the natural setting compensates for the basic amenities. The location provides access to Baggy Point and the South West Coast Path, offering some of North Devon's most dramatic cliff scenery.
