Designated dog areas
The two beaches here carry opposite rules, set by the landowner rather than by the council. Dogs are permitted on Bovisand Bay, the wider bay, all year. Dogs are not allowed at any time on the Bovisand Park private estate beaches, which include Sandy Parlour at Crownhill Bay. The estate leases that land from the Duchy of Cornwall, so the ban is a landowner condition and not backed by a fixed penalty.
