Saltern Cove is a peaceful spot best reached on foot, via the South West Coast Path. Access is down a narrow track and uneven in places, so unsuitable for prams or those with mobility difficulties. There are no facilities or lifeguards, but dogs are welcome year-round. The water is clear and well used by snorkelers. The cove is rocky at high tide, so best visited around low tide for sand and rock pools. Wild and natural, Saltern Cove serves as a low-key retreat away from tourist crowds. The cove sits between Goodrington and Broadsands on the dramatic South West Coast Path, offering excellent walking in both directions. The area has remained undeveloped due to its cliff-top location and access difficulties, preserving its natural character. The clear waters and rocky reefs make it popular with divers and snorkellers exploring the marine life. The name reflects the area's history of salt extraction, common along this coastline in medieval times.
