Livermead Sands is a narrower stretch of sand wedged between Torquay and Paignton, quiet for much of the year. It feels natural and slightly exposed, with views across the bay to Brixham. There are no cafés or kiosks immediately on the beach, though amenities are short walk away. Dogs are banned between May and September. The sand shelves quite sharply and can become shingly at either end. It's less suitable for families but is peaceful for winter beach walks with a dog. With limited parking and fewer facilities, it attracts a quieter crowd than neighbouring beaches. The beach sits close to the South West Coast Path, offering excellent walking connections to both neighbouring towns. Limited parking is available on nearby residential streets. The location provides unobstructed views across Torbay towards Berry Head, and the railway line runs close behind, with trains providing regular connections between Torquay and Paignton since 1859.
