Fairy Cove

Dog-Friendly Beach in Torbay

Tucked south of Paignton Harbour, Fairy Cove is a small red sand and pebble beach bordered by sheltered cliffs. There are no dedicated facilities but town amenities are close by. Dogs are welcome all year. Access is a short, uneven walk from Paignton Harbour. The beach is quiet and well liked by locals for off-lead play, though space shrinks considerably at high tide. The proximity to Paignton's historic harbour area means easy access to shops, restaurants, and the Dartmouth Steam Railway. The harbour itself dates back centuries and was formally developed in 1847 to support the town's growth. The red sand reflects the local Permian geology that characterises much of the Torbay coastline. The sheltered position makes it popular with small boat owners and anglers launching from the nearby harbour.
